Looking rather wet in this part of the world this week. GFS Predicting some amazing totals however there appears to be some arguments between models which has caused the BoM to hold off on issuing any warnings other than for Thunderstorms.

It will be interesting to see what kind of rainfall totals they end up with. It might all dry up when I fly up there Wednesday night though ;)

GFS now has around 500mm plotted over the SEQ area.

Most of that being dropped over the next 72hrs.

Thanks for that Lee. That is rather concerning. I am supposed to be flying up there tomorrow night, hopefully the runway isn't under water!

Furthermore to this the latest GFS Acc Precip has a bullseye over my neck of the woods in Lismore

forecasts.bsch.au.com/apf.html?region=br...&gribdate=2012012400

It's remarkable how GFS has been progging these large totals for days on end now. My main concern from a personal point of view is that the bulk of that rainfall is forecast to fall in the next 72hrs and if that does come off Lismore could be in for some serious flooding and living on the South Lismore floodplain you can understand my nervousness. Interesting couple of days coming up and I'll be watching it all unfold with a very keen eye

Might be time to start bagging the sand bags...

I suspect I am going to have a nightmare tomorrow night trying to get to Brisbane, flights will be delayed and possibly cancelled. I will not be happy if this is the case...
